Mark Robinson – Managing Director
Mark has a degree in German Studies from the University of Lancaster, a Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists and an MBA from Cranfield University. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and a Chartered Linguist.
Prior to co-founding Alexika in 1998, Mark spent 10 years in marketing and export management roles in manufacturing industries – and part of that work was purchasing translations. He has led marketing projects throughout Western and Eastern Europe as well as in South Korea, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. He knew from the outset how important it is for commercial purchasers of translations that they are buying with confidence and can rely on punctual delivery.
Mark has served as a member of Council and as Honorary Treasurer of the Association of Translation Companies, and currently serves on the Council of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. He has been a guest lecturer at the Universities of Lancaster and Cardiff on the subject of translation.
Liam Kinney – Translations Manager
Liam has a first class honours degree in French Studies from the University of Central Lancashire and an MA in Translation from the University of Lancaster.
He joined Alexika in 2017 having initially spent time at the company as part of his MA in Translation degree at the University of Lancaster. He is equally at home helping clients with their projects and also working closely with translators to produce their best work. He is a certified advanced user of Trados Studio translation software.
Liam is a Language Services member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
